NERDING: Chernobyl

The other night there was nothing on TV so I decided to watch a random movie that I'd never heard of and it actually ended up being pretty interesting. Have you ever seen or played the old game "Silent Hill"? Well, it's basically the same kind of story only this isn't about ghosts and scary grim reapers. Think more along the lines of being stuck in a delapitated town with night zombies... and their dogs.

Scary stuff right!? What's even scarrier is that the town and the history are even scarrier! Like that of

"Immediate impact of the Chernobyl accident

The accident caused the largest uncontrolled radioactive release into the environment ever recorded for any civilian operation, and large quantities of radioactive substances were released into the air for about 10 days. This caused serious social and economic disruption for large populations in Belarus, Russia and Ukraine. Two radionuclides, the short-lived iodine-131 and the long-lived caesium-137, were particularly significant for the radiation dose they delivered to members of the public."

News-ish: Moore Ok

Our prayers are with everyone affected by the massive EF5 tornado that tore through Moore, Tues 5/20.

"The people of Moore should know that their country will remain on the ground, there for them, beside them, as long as it takes," Obama said at the White House at a press conference after deeming the catastrophe as a major disaster and ordered national aid as well as deploying 300 FD workers.

I can't even begin to imagine the way people feel after devastation of any kind. I can only imagine their heart ache. I think about losing any of my family friend or my baby teddy and I start to bawl. [What I don't understand is the stories of people who were home and who's pets were/are missing... how do you not take your pet with you... :/ Teddy is my life and if a tornado came here, I don't care what would happen to me, I'd rush to my parents to be with them & him... I'm not talking smack.. I just don't understand that part....]
My heart goes out to you all and the poor puppies/kitties & other pets that are now homeless as well.

I commend everyone who has and continues their efforts to help save people from wreckage and pray everyone is soon safe! Sadly 24 people [including 9 children] lost their lives and several hundreds are injured. All the hard work of these people need to be awarded somehow. The hard work of ALL people involved in helping during crisis should be...  if only I was Bill Gates. :(
I pray for you all and am so sorry for your losses.

stay safe, love & help one another even bf disaster strikes!

MORE Life Surprises

With my impending 30th close at hand, I've taken this quiet time off to  reflect on life and the last 5 months that have quickly whizzed by and I've decided a few things. There's going to be a LOT of changes. There's been a lot said and done that apparently has not all come from the people I was told it was from. Deception is a b*tch and though I've had enough of her, she's always around. It's hard to believe people, if anything my own honesty makes me more perceptive, not stupid or blind like some would think. I have a hard time trusting people, but who can say they really trust anyone? I luckily have a close few I can and with their help and support, I've come to some of these final choices. I've wasted too much time contemplating how to solve issues that weren't even issues to begin with but lies, so..
Since I seemingly can only trust the few [amazing] bffs I have, on top of no longer giving a [banana], my ears will be closed to anything negative anyone has to say about ANYONE! I really never gave a sh*t,  just believed the worst because it was always so nicely presented to me. I'm also just going to lay it all out on the table from now on! Part of the changes will involve allowing everyone a look into the pages, tweets and what not.* I will be opening new accounts, new pages and all will be invited to join and friend or whatever. :) Just so sick of the silliness and pettiness! The only rule is, as always, no stupid stuff. No negativity or hate.
I love the radio and love what I do too much to stop. I will be returning, as requested and after some beratement from friends, to the talk radio circle sooner rather than later :p Expect a new episode AS SOON as [if not before] the new site/s are up and running. Gotta get those things in order then I will be back LIVE on air with new music and such! I've missed the show and though things didn't work out with the second job, I take it as a sign that the time I would have been spending there, is MEANT to be spent on the show! :)
Funny how sometimes things work out, but I take the outcomes as signals for another opportunity. Can't stop just because one door closes! I'll be goin' full steam ahead, try to keep up! ;)

Don't Hate me Because...

I don't want to dance with you.
I'm sorry but no thank you. HOW do I say it any other way?? How many times must we [ladies] say it? Why are you [dudes] so persistent? I don't know about you, but when I go out with my friends, I am not there to hit on people... not really. I like flirting sure and talking to people but don't try to get me faded then try to get my digits- that's just creeper shady! and OMG UGH, I'm definitely not there to grind on or be ground on by a stranger. I mean that's like 18-22/24 year old behavior! IMHO. I'm out to get my dance on, get silly with my friends and yea I'll talk to you and be social but don't grab me and start grinding on me >.<
Hands off! We appreciate the offers to dance but like my girls Lala & Care bear, I just don't want to dance with dudes I don't know! Normally I say don't take it personal either cuuuuz we just don't want to dance with ANYONE period... I don't even dance with the cute boys/girls! We prefer to dance alone and wiggle to our own beat... OH and fYI [we females] are even less inclined to want to do so if you're dressed like you have no sense or have B.O.... I'm sorry if that's mean it's just how it is. My girls get it!! Bo is not ok!
While we are talking about "dressing like you have sense or if you have B.O"--- you need to get those taken care of and handle you sh*t. It's not cool to go out to a club, dance your face off and stink up the place with your musty arm stank! HATE THAT! Figure out SOME WAY to not be stanky! ::Shudder:: had a dude wafting his smell in our direction part of  the night last night, it was like the smell was permeating through our nostrils and burning our brains!!
So, while we appreciate you appreciating our moves,  hotness and us overall... "Please don't touch me. Don't grab me and spin me on the floor if you don't know me..." and don't ask me 4 times after I said no 3 times already!!! >.<  Last night I had 1 guy grab me and 2 [at least] asked. I feel bad saying no but it's just not what I want to do! Luckily the ones who asked us last night weren't grody or stank-tastic- but we just. Don't  Dance. With. Other. People---- except each other... hahaha :"p

PS: DON'T BE THIS DUDE CUUUZ NO IT AINT!
AAAND PPS: If you are moving out of the US/State in two days and are looking for "company"... don't hit on a me. :: rolling my eyes::

Random: Crappy World Issues

We all bitch and whine about what we don't have. We complain about not having enough freedoms, not having enough crap, not having enough choices. What are "we" bitching for! Have you been keeping up with the news? Do you KNOW what's going on in the world??

There are bombings everywhere not just here. Many more people die from suicide bombers and the like elsewhere. [not undermining the severity of our own issues] In Guantanamo Bay, POW are starving themselves just to get our attention so that they can be released as they were told they would be, many have been forced fed, and yet they're still waiting for results..  People say we should fully leave Afghanistan, and though I [mostly] agree, I still think since they are ASKING for help in reconstructing their army, we should leave some people there to help! What's the point of being a powerful nation if we don't do unto others?! Yes we have our own issues and our own problems to worry about, I totally understand that, but how can we expect aid in the future if we ever need it if we can't help others as well?
That's what chaps my [a$$] most. People spout off this shit about helping others, "being good Christians", good people, etc. yet we [seemingly] aren't doing anything for the women/children/communities that need help in places around the world, in places we helped destroy! War leaves innocent lives destroyed, families ruined, and we just abandon them as if they are worthless, and complain that they are taking the money we need ourselves. What do you expect?! If we destroy a place, we should help rebuild it! If war came to us... what would you hope for?! I hope the innocent would be acknowledged and given aid to reconstruct their ruined lives not just tossed aside.
War is not the only trouble we have you know. There are SO many issues I can't even write about them all [doesn't mean I won't try]. There are many starving children, many children all over the world who are homeless and have nothing yet our kids are so spoiled there have been studies showing obesity is prevalent and out of control in the US "Of all high income countries, the United States has the highest rates of overweight and obesity, with fully a third of the population obese—a rate projected to rise to around 50 percent by 2030." *. There are homeless Veterans with no one to help them fix their broken lives/minds or souls. Vets who served FOR US yet we barely give them enough to survive. WHY aren't they a bigger priority!
Instead of keeping up with the news, it seems like the majority of people would rather "keep up with the karTRASHians" and a care more about what inane, useless people are doing rather than find out what's going on in the world. We have all these super rich brats who don't do shit for the money they sit on and waste, while we have people with no money, working their asses off to try to just scrape by! Am I the only one who feels like that? Am I the only one who thinks that's wrong!? [I know I'm not, it's rhetorical].  There are so many things going on outside of our world but few people seem to notice outside of their own little selfish, reality tv brainwashed lives.
I understand it's hard to do things for people across the world. I know its hard to even just help people here in our own areas! I wish I could help everyone but there is always some reason I'm unable to. I'm just one person, but I've learned that even just talking about it, standing up for something you believe in, making people aware and speaking out is doing something! Teaching people about what's going on outside of their bubble is doing something. Standing up for what you believe in with other people who believe in the same things as you do, is doing something! You are out there advocating, spreading the word and doing more than just saying you wish you could do more. I want to learn more ways to help and stand up for people who might not have that support. I go to rallies and go to seminars for a reason! I've been going to them since I was 13! My mother got me into them and they are a great way to connect with people on your wave length. I alone may be only one voice, but with the others who are also committed to helping, we make a formidable force!
Don't let people [or me] tell you what to do, how to believe or what to stand up for. We wouldn't be land of the free otherwise. It just majorly blows that the Government is getting so involved in our personal lives... we have to not only help the other countries who have this issue, but also make sure to fight for our freedoms. It's a lot of work, but isn't your life, your future important?

What Do I Stand/Fight For? I'm glad you ask. Really I stand for ALL human and animal rights but there are certain things that I advocate for more than others.

WOMEN RIGHTS [including abortion & abused women rights]
As the sex that is responsible for bearing you, and after all the feminist movements; you'd think we would get better treatment and not have someone trying to tell us what we can and can't do with our own bodies! No one has the right to tell you what to do with your body. It's YOUR body. For the government to [try] to say otherwise is horse shit. I'm pro-life MYSELF but pro-choice for every other woman. Why should what you choose to do with your body affect me personally? It doesn't and though yes I am sad for the innocent babies, it's not my call nor my place to judge you.
What's sad is we in America complain about our rights, though they are being slightly questioned it seems, women from other countries have it SO MUCH WORSE!! Little girls are still being sold to older men to marry [disgusting] they are still being treated as if they were less than animals! They [may be] treated like crap by their spouses families even raped by male family members, some are even being KILLED just because they didn't cook/clean to the families liking!! There was a story in 2010 in Time Magazine about a young woman [Aesha Mohmmadzai] who had her nose and ears cut off simply for running away from her abusive husband! Her story isn't the only one like it. It's disgusting how women are being treated globally! Have you heard the stories about women who are still enduring circumcision in some African places?! Barbaric not only to us, but [some of] them as well! Even though it has been a custom, some things should be changed for the health and well being of the sufferers.
Yes there are just as many horror stories about women being beaten or worse but it is not as prevalent here where we have WAY more rights. We are allowed to go to school, work, go out without being ridiculed or stoned for "improper behavior" which could be as simple as stepping out of your house and talking to a man who isn't in your family or husband. Women need to help each other period. We will sadly always be viewed as the "weaker sex" and no one's going to take care of us the way we would ourselves. We have to stand up and be strong for the women who can't speak out for themselves!

GLBT:
Does it bother you when girls make out- no? but when guys do it's "wrong"? Are you a "fake lesbian" who makes out with other chicks just for the attention? GTFU! You're idiots and need a hard kick in the head. It's not a game to play! It's a way of life! What I don't get is WHY YOU CARE that I like chicks! WHY does it offend you if my friend "Bill" is gay, that his dad Bob is now Bertha and his mom has a new girlfriend?!? Is it interfering with your daily life?! No one tells straight people who to love and how to live!
Why should other people who happen to love the same gender be treated any different! It pisses me off that this is even an argument! It shouldn't even need to be discussed! It's none of your damn business! Love is no ones business but their own so BTFO! Get over it! Say God hates homos if you want- your also ignorant and need more than a kick. GOD CAN NOT HATE! GOD IS LOVE! Why would He create someone he hates?! Stop being so stupid! I know that sounds harsh but dense people need a little more brashness than the "regular ones". One group I've been following for over 3 yrs now is the NOH8 campaign begun by Adam Bouska and his partner in response to Cali's prop 8 in 2008. When I finally got to meet him and his employee/friend Chris I was close to tears. Maybe it's because I've grown up with many gay men and lesbians & have even known several transgender females, that this resonates and touches me so much. I've talked about it before as well so I wont get into it EITHER but the way it took off so quickly is awesome! I just hope the people who have taken their pics aren't hypocrites and turning around being a-holes to every Tom & Rob or Sally & Jane... you know?!

ABANDONED AND ABUSED CHILDREN
As you know I was adopted, lived in a foster home for several months before I was adopted. Now, mostly due to my mother being a teacher, children have always held a special place in my heart. To think of any of my kids going through either makes me sick, and it makes me sicker to know there are children all over the world dealing with these things they shouldn't have to. I understand getting frustrated at children, they are rather obnoxious and loud but I NEVER will understand striking or beating a child. Children are my life and considering they are the ones who are going to run the world when we are too old- they should be everyone elses' as well!

ANTI BULLYING [in general as well as GLBT]
I've spoken many times about bullying so I wont get into it again. I was and have been a bullied person most my life. I don't understand it. Never have. I feel bad for people who feel empowered and more emotionally gratified when they put others down, hurt others and are just bullies. I don't get it. I'm not perfect! I'm not always happy with life, but I never go around belittling others or talking down to them. EVER! We are here to help each other, at least we SHOULD be, if you're not I suggest moving to a desserted island perhaps...
VETERANS AID
I have heard stories of most of the homeless being veterans for as long as I can remember. I've heard that they went crazy and couldn't hold down normal jobs or live normal lives any more because of all the horror they went through during war/s. How can you expect a man/woman to return to everyday life after watching their close friends and comrades being shot at, mutilated and killed?! After dating "my marine", I understood better the kind of care they need. Not only medical but also lots of mental as well. Not because they are crazy- but because they come back not knowing what to do with themselves, how to end the night terrors and how to get back into routines they once knew. For "my marine" and his friends, several were pivoted back to Freshman year of college- their military skills unnecessary for the day to day work force. They didn't know how to get back to the "normal grind" of day to day life. I can understand how it would be hard to fend for yourself after spending years having someone tell you what to do, after years of following strict codes and rules. I don't know how other people with partners with worse issues than my marine had dealt with the PTSD issues and I wish there was more being done to help rehabilitate our service people!!
